Katja Bessonova

Katja is a communications professional with over 10 years of experience specializing in sustainable development. She designs and implements strategies to promote implementation of innovative and ocean-based renewable energy technologies, including airborne wind energy (AWE). By harnessing wind energy at heights of 300-600 meters, AWE can offer clean power to remote and island communities, farmers, construction sites, and in emergency situations. It operates off-grid and around the clock, bridging gaps in electricity production portfolios of other renewable energy technologies. In her talk, Katja will discuss the progress in commercializing airborne wind energy and its potential for Ireland.
