John Finnegan

John works in the Energy Division of the Department and is responsible for electricity networks and systems, and worked on the development of a policy framework for storage and reform of private wires. John’s function is also responsible for policy oversight of the electricity grid and related issues such as connection policy and planning future reinforcement of the network. He has a background in finance and economics and was an economic consultant on infrastructure issues before joining the civil service.
