Andrew Parnell

Andrew’s research is in machine learning and statistical modelling applied to many different climate and ecological areas. He is currently Principal Investigator and Deputy Director of the Research Ireland Co-Centre in Climate, Biodiversity and Water.

Andrew is the lead Principal Investigator for Decarb-AI, a €5.7 million national research centre established to build artificial intelligence tools that drive climate resilience and decarbonisation. The centre uses AI to accelerate the transition to a climate-resilient, low-carbon future through scalable solutions in sustainable finance, peatland restoration, and energy monitoring.
